With winter nipping and summer looming, work continues at the Doukhobor Discovery Centre. The feature exhibit of 2009 will focus on the role of women and their continuing contribution to the Doukhobor movement. Larry Ewashen, Curator, has met with Lola Sherstobitoff (left) and Nell Plotnikoff (right) of the USCC Cultural Interpretive Society who will be assisting in the exhibit. Pictured here, centre, is also Dr. Galina Alexeeva, visiting authority from Yasnaya Polyana, the State Museum of Leo Tolstoy, who also sat in on the strategy session.

The exhibit will feature archival and modern photographs as well as specific artefacts and items throughout the Doukhobor history. It will also indicate the ongoing projects of Doukhobor women today and their various charitable works. In addition there will be a special art exhibit in the Village Gallery featuring the images of well known photographer Lola Sherstobitoff.
