The
Doukhobor Discovery Centre is now accepting applications for
summer student positions. Work will begin May 3 and will last
for 16 weeks, ending August 21, 2009.
These positions will deal with visitor
services and interpretation; greeting visitors, managing the
Gallery Craft Centre and giving guided tours of the Museum.
A
Curatorial Assistant will work as an assistant to the Curator
on various day-to-day tasks. This will include work as Archives
Assistant and will primarily be concerned with building the
archival catalogue and will also be a guide one or two days
out of five. This position could lead to further employment.
In order to apply, you must be between
the ages of 16 and 30, and be a full-time student intending
to return to school in September. The Curatorial Assistant can
be a graduating college student in a related discipline seeking
employment.
Priority will be given to those applicants
in a related field of study and/or intending to pursue a career
in a related field.
All positions are 40 hours per week,
$10 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
These positions are funded through Young
Canada Works and Canada Summer Jobs, and are dependent on approved
funding. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their
