Larry Ewashen, Curator of the Doukhobor Discovery Centre, is pleased to announce the summer staff for 2009. Keely O’Doherty, left, formerly of Grand Forks, is an Honour student at the University of Victoria. Jeremy Davison, centre, of Castlegar, is a Dean’s list scholar enrolled at Queen’s University, and Melia Campos is an Honour Roll student at Selkirk College.

The Centre reports the second highest attendance in the last five years for May and included ten tours; one of which featured an extensive visit by His Honour, Lieutenant Governor Steve Point and wife Wendy, who also had a traditional Doukhobor lunch at the Village Bistro, now open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 to 4:00.

Twenty more tours are booked for the remaining summer months, including several from the US, the lower mainland, and China.
