Online Exhibits

In recognition of the growing importance of Internet development, the Doukhobor Discovery Centre is continuing to bring you informative and innovative online content consisting of exhibits online, or other projects of Doukhobor interest.

This directory will expand as time passes and new projects are completed; clicking on the screenshot next to the description will take you out of this current site and to the particular online exhibit.

The 2008 Exhibit online  Developed in 2008, with the financial assistance of the BC Arts Council, Columbia Basin Trust through the Castlegar Arts Council, and CCUB Trust Fund. For the many who cannot visit our Centre and see first-hand the 2008 Exhibit, we developed an online 'virtual exhibit' of special display materials in recognition of the centenary of the Doukhobors' migration to BC. The Doukhobor Music Site online  In 2003, with the financial assistance of the BC Arts Council and BC Museums Association, we were able to embark on digitizing the vast array of Doukhobor music found in our archives, and developing this website/online exhibit. This exhibit is an ongoing endeavour, updated regularly as more Doukhobor music is located, and newer selections are recorded and then added to this online archive. The Autochrome Exhibit   This exhibit which debuted in 2005, was the result of roughly 18 months of tedious digital restoration of autochromes and negatives found in our archives. Special thanks is given to the Vancouver Foundation, Columbia Basin Trust, Columbia Power Corporation, BC Arts Council, BC Hydro, Castlegar and District Arts Council, City of Castlegar, and C.C.U.B. Trust Fund who each contributed to make this exhibit a reality. Click on the screenshot to the left to enter.

The CCUB Exhibit   An online exhibit depicting the Doukhobor Discovery Centre's 2006 theme, this module describes the development, history, accomplishments and demise of the Christian Community of Universal Brotherhood. Sponsored by the Spirit of BC Opportunities Program and the Doukhobor Discovery Centre, this exhibit too will be an ongoing endeavour.
