U.S.C.C. Doukhobor Choir - Expo 86

The Union of Spiritual Communities of Christ Doukhobor Choir which was organized by John J. Verigin, C.M., Honorary Chairman of the U.S.C.C., was selected especially for Expo 86, from the West Kootenay and Boundary areas of B.C. The Choir presents for your enjoyment several acappella numbers out of Doukhobor historical background, a few contemporary hymns and some modern Russian folk songs. Our Choir Director for the Doukhobor hymns is Peter N. Voykin of Castlegar, B.C. For our Russian folk songs we have had the assistance or Alexander S. Shirokov from the Moscow Academy of Musicians. Our Choir would like to express our deep appreciation for the expert overall guidance of our Directors - Alexander S. Shirokov and Peter N. Voykin.
