| Notes: Choir Background The Kootenay Men's Choir was formed in 1990 when a group of men, of Doukhobor background came together as a result of their yearning for singing the traditional Doukhohor hymns and Russian folk songs. Directed by the talented Paul Samsonoff, their acappella singing has blossomed to the point where the choir has gained an excellent reputation. The desire to share their music with others and at the same time leave something for the future generations has prompted the choir to record some of their repetoire on tape and compact disc.
