Other: Cassette Library
In the early 90s when the Museum of Civilization in Hull was preparing the exhibit to commemorate the two major Doukhobor Centennials, Larry A. Ewashen was contracted to collect additional Doukhobor music to add to the museum's collection.
This led to a search throughout the western provinces with a result of music dating from 1948, including reel-to-reel tape and home made recordings. All of the original song material was shipped to the Museum of Civilization where it is now being held, but before shipment, the material was recorded onto cassettes - this collection is the result.
This cassette library is property of Larry Ewashen, curator of the Doukhobor Village Museum. Its contents represents more than the above titles and contains many other recordings including some rare older 78 rpm recordings from the late 1940s. There are no album graphic associated with this library but a catalogue in pdf of the complete library is available for download here. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this catalogue.
